Birth Record Recovery Week: helping flood-affected families in Ayawaso Central

The Ayawaso Central Constituency organisation, together with the Births and Deaths Registry, is holding a Birth Record Recovery Week from Monday 21 to Friday 25 September 2026, starting at 9:00am each day at the Alajo Astro Turf.

The exercise is part of national Births & Deaths Registration Awareness Month, and is aimed specifically at helping families in the constituency who lost birth records in the recent flooding to recover them.

The week is being led by Samuel Adom Botchway, Ag. Registrar of Births and Deaths, together with Hon. Abdul Rauf Tongym Tubazu, MP for Ayawaso Central.

Registration is free, and the registry is calling on residents to register all births, especially children aged 0–12 months, under the hashtags #RegisterAllBirthsNow #ItIsFree #Age0-12Months.
